And no, that’s not a misprint … when we say saxy, we mean very saxy, because each of the six of the musicians plays a different kind of saxophone, from high soprano to low bass.
This is a concert that everybody can enjoy because the Moanin’ Frogs don’t limit themselves to any single genre with everything from classical to jazz and ragtime to pop.
Their passion, quality, variety, instrumentation and focus on the audience’s experience sets them apart, so it’s no wonder that the Moanin’ Frogs won first-prize honors at the 2018 M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition. They are very welcome performers to PLPA because they focus on promoting music to students and educators through their music videos, interactive clinics and masterclasses for students and educators. Education Outreach is the major benefactor of PLPA funds.
Tickets are available online at portludlowperformingarts.com for $40 each, and season tickets can also be purchased at that website. The PLPA season consists of six performances from the September show to the season-ender on May 3, 2026, when ventriloquist/comedian Michael Harrison takes the stage.
